LogSavers & FlitchSavers

Used to stitch existing splits and checks in valuable logs. LogSavers and FlitchSavers are made from special recycled plastic and will not damage saws or veneer knives.

THE LEGEND

Swinging the backside of an axe at his left hand to drive steel "S" irons into logs never seemed like a great idea to Jim Higgins. After dislocating his index finger on his left hand, he pulled it back into place, packed it in ice, and the idea for LogSavers was born.

Higgins, a professional logger, designed the original LogSaver to be safer and easier to use. By using special plastic, he prevented all the problems caused by metal parts in logs. Designing the LogSaver to clip into the face of the hammer kept his hands out of the striking zone.

LogSavers were quickly accepted by numerous logging operations and Higgins teamed up with U·C Coatings, the leading company in preventing degrade from end cheking, to sell and distribute his new invention. Customer feedback led to the development of the FlitchSaver and added another safe and practical product that protects and enhances the value of logs and lumber.
